Rafting the Ocoee

We had a great time on our rafting trip. I was the only one on the raft who had never been. I have been a bit scared but Im definitely glad I did it. Like Pink says, "Have you ever looked fear in the face and said I just dont care?" Yes, Pink I have!!

We had gorgeous weather and the water wasnt near as cold as I thought it would be.

Kim and Tom.

Swimming the Ocoee.

These water cameras make it hard to tell what all is in the picture. I didnt mean to get the end of the paddle in this one!

On some of the rapids the guide will let you "ride the bull." I would never do this, but Jasons dad decided he would on the rapid called Hells Hole! Yeah, hes crazy. Riding the bull consists of sitting on the front of the boat and holding on to a strap while tons of water is pretty much drowning you. He loved it though and didnt fall off the raft.

The gang, along with Ryan our guide. It was his first year so I wasnt too excited about that, but he did a great job.

Sleeping on the bus ride back. Rafting makes you tired when you are pushing 32!

At one point, I did almost fall off the raft. Ryan told us we had 1 of 2 choices on an upcoming rapid. We could do Hero or Chicken. Hero would probably dump all of us and chicken wouldnt. Well, I was all about chicken but democracy can suck at times! When we hit the rapid we started on my side and I felt myself falling out so I dropped the paddle(which you arent suppose to do) and grabbed Jason's life vest and he grabbed mine and my left side was in the water and my right side was in the boat. The whole time I kept saying Im still in the boat, I didnt fall out! I really thought the whole thing was going to flip on top of me. Anyway, we all loved it. Oh and I have 2 other posts below this one.

Glad you had so much fun. Your pics do make it look like fun. I would still probably chicken out once I got there though.

Looks like you had a blast! Michael has one of those Banjo shirts from when he went rafting. I've never been, but it is on my "bucket list"! :-)
